In June 2017, Tipi Confessions produced our fourth show alongside the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) annual meeting. MC’ed by Tracy Bear, Kim TallBear, and special guest MC Tenille Campbell, the show was the first of ours that featured Indigenous burlesque performers, from Virago Nation and our own Edmonton-based Beaver Hills burlesque collective. Tenille Campbell also read from her book Indian Love Poems. Dramaturge Donia Mounsef provided a tutorial on the Hanky Code, and Kim shared her Critical Poly 100s. Special thanks to QMUNITY, BC’s Queer resource centre, and YouthCo, Youth leading the HIV Hep C Movement for the Safer Sex Supplies and Womyns’ Ware for the incredibly generous door prizes.
